Lesson 3: My Foot Copy
Through this lesson, children should be able to:
- Explain the concept of size
- Identify our body parts: legs, foot, toes, ankles, and knees
- Explain the functions of feet
Let’s get to know the lesson through this quick video:
| Teaching Aids | Student Kit | Workbook |
|---|---|---|
| Animal Models Flashcards Tray or Box cover (Self-prepared) | White chalk Black sugar paper White talcum powder | Page 6 |
Let’s ‘stretch’ this lesson!

Compare the feet of different animals such as the hooves of horses and the webbed feet of ducks. Emphasize on its unique functions to the animals.
Tip: When making footprints, prepare a towel or bathroom mat for the children to wipe their feet. The talcum powder on the children’s feet can cause children to slip and fall if not wiped properly.
What good questions can you ask in this lesson?
| Remembering | Understanding | Applying | Analysing | Evaluating | Creating | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Footprint | What is the name of this body part? | Which foot is bigger/smaller? | What are examples of actions that we can do with our feet? | What else can you find on our feet? | What do you think would happen if we lost our foot? | Can you name one thing that we wear to protect our feet? |
| Left or Right Foot? | What is this? | Where are shoes worn on our body? | Which shoe goes on the right/left foot? | How do we know if the shoes are in our size? | Do you think it’s better to go out without wearing shoes? | Can you name one thing that we wear to protect our feet? |
