Let’s ‘stretch’ this lesson!

Once the children have identified all the basic colours, you can start introducing to the different shades of a colour, such as light green and dark green. You can also talk about more eccentric colours such as turquoise, gold, and fuchsia.
What good questions can you ask in this lesson?
| Remembering | Understanding | Applying | Analysing | Evaluating | Creating | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rolling Colour Dice | What is this? | What are colours that you can observe on the surfaces of the dice? | Can you give examples of objects that are in the same colour as the colours of the dice? | Can you classify the colours of the dice/objects gathered into light and dark colours? | Which colour is your favourite? | Can you name a colour that is not on the dice? |
| Colour Dough | What is this? | What shape is the dough? | How should we classify the balls of dough? | What are the colours of the balls of dough? | Which colour is your favourite? | What other shapes/designs can you create using the dough? |
