Now, let us watch this video lesson with your child to learn more about the concept of float and sink (solid and shape).

Now, have your child to identify objects that are heavy and objects that are light using a benchmark for comparison.

Introduce the terms ‘lighter,’ ‘heavier,’ ‘lighter than’ and ‘heavier than.’

Explore further with your child what is contributing to objects being heavy or light through observation. Ask him/her to give reasons why those objects are heavy or light. Is it because of the size of the object? Is it because of the type of material the object is made from?
