Activity: Separating the Colours Copy
Now, when your child understands about colour separation, let us do this activity!
Materials Needed

- Blotting Paper (3 pieces)
- Magic Pens
- Water
- Bowl
How To Do
Let us follow the step-by-step guide for you to do this activity with your child.
- Mark a dot of light green, 2cm from the bottom end on one of their blotting papers, by using the light green magic pen.
- Write the name of the colour (light green).
- Dip the strip in the water with the ink almost touching the water.
- Your child should notice that different colours start to appear on the blotting paper. Get the children to observe and name the colours (blue and yellow).
- Remind your child to handle the blotting paper carefully as it may tear.
- When the strip is dry, stick it on the children’s science activity book.
- Let the children explore further by repeating the same procedure using other colours.
- Purple dot separates into blue and red.
- Orange dot separates into yellow and red.
- Brown dot separates into many colours.
