Activity 1: Making Your Own X-ray Images Copy
The X-ray image is black and white. The white part on the X-ray image represent our bones. Our skeletons and bones will block the passage of the X-ray beam through the body, which appear white on the X-ray image. Let’s make your own X-ray image now.
Materials Needed

- Black paper (from child’s student kit)
- Chalk
- White Paint
- Paint Brush
How To Do?
Let’s follow the step-by-step instructions for you to do a hands-on activity with your child.
- Give your child a piece of black paper and tell them that they are going to make X-ray images of their hands.
- Ask them to draw white lines on their fingers and the palm of their hand using the white paint. Guide them to understand that these lines represent the bones inside.
- Now, ask them to “print” it on the black paper and while holding their hand down, draw an outline of their hand with a piece of white chalk.
- When you are done, you will have an x-ray image of your hand!
