Teaching Tips!
Visual aids such as posters, picture cards, photos, and drawings always aid in improving the effectiveness of a lesson delivery. Children, in particular, benefit most from the use of visual aids because at an early age, most of them are visual learners. Using visualization as a stimulus in the early childhood classroom will contribute towards children’s sensory learning.
Having trouble conducting the experiments? Activities did not go as planned?
Have extra time or are looking for creative ways to modify and “stretch” this lesson?
Here are tips and suggestions to support your teaching needs:
| Friction Experiment | The data collected might vary from class/group to another. This is because the force of placing the marbles into the container by each child will vary; therefore, reminding the children and showing them to place the marbles gently into the container might provide you with more accurate results. |
| Whole Lesson | Relate the topic of friction to its application in everyday objects found and used in our day to day lives. Other than the soles of our shoes, provide other examples such as placing glass cups on a rough surface to prevent it from falling off a table and showing how car tires are made out of rubber to prevent cars from sliding off the road and causing accidents during rainy days. |
