Activity 1: Colour Mixing Experiment Copy

Now, when your child is able to understand about colour mixing, let us do this activity!

Material Needed

  • Test Tube
  • Pipette
  • Plastic Cups
  • Colour Tablets (Self-Prepared)

How To Do

Let us follow the step-by-step guide for you to do this activity with your child.

  1. Prepare 4 plastic cups.  
  2. Fill each cup with red, blue, and yellow coloured water. Leave 1 cup to be empty.
  3. Introduce the pipette to your child. Demonstrate to your child the proper way to use the pipette and allow them to model using the pipette.
  4. Have your child to put five drops of blue coloured water into his/her test tube. Then, add five drops of yellow coloured water into the same test tube.
  5. Let your child observe the colour changes in his/her test tube and name the new colour produced.
  6. Repeat the previous steps with other combinations of colours such as blue and red and yellow and red.

Blue + Yellow = Green

Blue + Red = Purple

Yellow + Red = Orange
