Now, let us watch this video lesson with your child to learn more about electrostatic!

Let your child gives examples of electrostatic force in our lives. Get her/him to share him/her experiences such as:

  • Those unexpected little shocks they sometimes get when they touch doorknobs or other metallic objects.
  • Hair standing on end when they come close to balloons that have been rubbed or when they are near to the TV screen that has been switched on for a long time).
  • Clothes clinging to their bodies.

Help your child to understand that lightning is a natural form of electrostatic force that occurs when electrostatic charges are built up between a cloud and the ground, or between two clouds, then creating a spark.
