Getting Started Copy

Parental involvement matters! Browse through the lessons and extend your child’s learning at home. Conduct a lesson per week to give time to your child to learn the knowledge, acquire the skills, and nurture positive behaviour.

To help get started, let’s now explore the anatomy of the flow of a lesson.

There are four (4) sequences in each learning cycle that correspond to clarifying learning intentions, interactive learning, engaging activities, and stimulating your child’s inquisitive mind with creative questions and exercises.

1. What Will Your Child Learn?

To assist your child in his/her learning, you need to know what your child will learn from the lesson. At the beginning of the lesson, the learning outcomes are defined and need to be achieved by the end of the lesson. Share these learning outcomes with your child so that they know what is expected of them during the lesson.

At the end of the lesson, ask your child to share and discuss what he/she learned. You can ask some questions to further assess if the learning outcomes are achieved.

2. Introduction

Your child will learn about the lessons with interesting and easy-to-comprehend video lessons.

A description of each lesson is provided for you to explain in detail about the lessons to your child. Questions that you can ask your child during the lesson are also provided to enhance your child’s understanding.

3. Activity

Complete the lesson by doing fun and engaging hands-on activities with your child by elaborating with prior knowledge while connecting this to the context of the lesson. For each activity, there is step-by-step instructions provided for you to assist your child.

To ensure your child can complete the activities, do not forget to retrieve the student kit from your child’s school. Contact your child’s preschool teacher to get the student kit.

To complete the lesson, share evidence of learning in the “Sharing Evidences” section by attaching photos and videos of your child doing the activities.  You are allowed to share up to three (3) pictures or videos at a time.

4. Exercise

Evaluate your child’s understanding of the lesson by getting your child to answer the creative questions designed for your child in the workbook. Use this opportunity to prompt your child other questions to extend his/her learning.

Each child is provided with a workbook. Ensure that you retrieve the workbook from your child’s preschool teacher so that exercises assigned in each lesson can be completed.
